For our August 25th meeting, we were joined by some students from Utrecht University's Summer School on Functional Programming. Jurriën Stutterheim talked about a project he did with Doaitse Swierstra and Wouter Swierstra. For the Junior College at Utrecht University, they developed a small web application to demonstrate the ideas behind Prolog and used this as a vehicle to teach about Computer Science in general. Next, Wouter Swierstra talked about his paper Data types a la carte, a way of solving the expression problem (with some caveats).
