At the July 14th meeting, Jasper Van der Jeugt talked about his Google Summer of Code project on switching the text library to use UTF-8 internally. Stefan Holdermans talked about how to do polymorphic Dynamics in Haskell as a library.
June 15th, we met at Utrecht University for two talks by Stefan Holdermans of Vector Fabrics and Erik Hesselink of Silk. Stefan talked about his work with Juriaan Hage on a type and effect system for detecting wrong calls to `head` (and more complicated things). Erik discussed some common patterns found in database abstractions at Silk.
