5.1 Visa information
Citizens of most European countries do not need a visa to stay in Ukraine for less than 90 days (details). If in doubt, please contact the Ukrainian embassy in your country.
Also note that a visa is typically required for work-related visits. Since you may have a hard time explaining to officials that you've come to write software for free, you'd rather not mention this fact.
5.2 Getting there
Odessa International Airport (ODS) has daily direct connections from and to Kyiv, Vienna, Istanbul, Warsaw, Budapest, Prague and Moscow.
Accommodation is plentiful in Odessa and ranges from renting a small room from a local resident to registered hostels, to the more expensive hotels. Below is the list of recommended places that are close to the venue. You can find other options on the websites like HostelWorld or Booking.com.
The Babushka Grand Hostel — 20 minutes by foot from the venue
